St. Stephen Presbyterian Church offers much reflection, services and meals for our congregation and visitors to experience Holy Week – the time period including Palm Sunday through Easter. This year, that time frame is April 13 – 20, Sunday to Sunday.
Here is a list of our scheduled reflective events and activities:
Sunday, April 13 – Palm/Passion Sunday Services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
Sunday, April 13 – 10:45 a.m. Palm and Donkey Processional on the Lawn
Sunday, April 13 – 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. Spring Festival which includes luncheon, crafts for all ages, games and bounce houses for the children and an Easter Egg Hunt at 1:20 p.m.
Monday, April 14, 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. – Holy Week Luncheon. Rev. Warner Bailey is the featured speaker exploring the topic of “The Parable of the Wicked Tenants”. Lunch is provided; suggested donation of $3 per person.
Tuesday, April 15, 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. – Holy Week Luncheon. Rev. Warner Bailey is the featured speaker exploring the topic of “The Parable of the Suffering Servant”. Lunch is provided; suggested donation of $3 per person.
Wednesday, April 16, 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. – Holy Week Luncheon. Rev. Warner Bailey is the featured speaker exploring the topic of “The Parable of the Risk-Taking Financier”. Lunch is provided; suggested donation of $3 per person.
Thursday, April 17, 12 noon – Maundy Thursday Worship Service with Communion. Lunch served AFTER the service in the Eastminster Room.
Thursday, April 17, 5:15 p.m. – Child-Friendly Maundy Thursday Worship Service with Communion, in the Crossing of the Sanctuary. Supper following.
Thursday, April 17, 7:00 p.m. Traditional Maundy Thursday Worship Service with Communion in the Sanctuary.
Friday, April 18, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. Good Friday Worship Service in the Sanctuary. Organ Prelude begins at 12:05 p.m. Lunch is in Parish Hall, free of charge, following the service.
Friday, April 18, 6:00 p.m. – Saturday, April 19, 12 midnight – EASTER VIGIL. Every Three Hours a worship service is held in reflection of Jesus Death and Resurrection. The services are held in various venues through out the church campurs. Schedule will be posted soon.
Sunday, April 20, 7:30 a.m. Youth Easter Celebration. The Youth of St. Stephen share their reading, acting, and musical abilities in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Breakfast following.
Sunday, April 20, 8:30 a.m. Easter Day Service in the West Transcept with Sanctuary Choir, Brass Quintet and timpani at this service.
Sunday, April 20, 10:30 a.m. following Sunday School, EASTER EGG HUNT on the lawn of the church for all children.
Sunday, April 20, 11:00 a.m. Easter Day Worship Service in the Nave of the Sanctuary with Sanctuary Choir, Brass Quintet and Timpani at this service.
