Saints Alive Day Trip to Waco

11:00 am

8Saints Alive Day Trip to Waco, February 21, Takes a Turn!

Bee Ingalls originally made the suggestion to revisit the Waco Mammoth National Monument this winter. However, the Monument, was closed due to the Government shutdown.

Therefore, Beth, a Baylor Grad, has some options up her sleeve…Tour the Texas Collection Library in the morning   — Click for info — :

“The Texas Collection is Baylor University’s oldest special collections library and serves as the University Archive that collects, preserves, and provides access to materials on the history, heritage and culture of Texas.” We’ll see the refurbished building, tour the map room, see the archives rooms and ask any questions about Texas that you wish. Beth worked there her entire college career and sang in the back rooms. Next we shall lunch at a location in downtown near the Brazos River.

After that, participants will tour the Balcones Whiskey Distillery also in downtown.   Tours are $15 per person and include tasting and opportunities to purchase items. Janie Hale Hattaway’s husband, Zach, works there! Janie is Molly Hale’s daughter.

Cost is $15 plus lunch. Maximum of 14 participants. RSVP to Beth soon.

Saints Alive is a Fellowship group for retirees.  They meet throughout the year when opportunities arise for educational programs or excursions.
