This Sunday, November 4, 2018, will be our annual All Saints Service, a celebration of the resurrection of the dead through Jesus Christ and a time of remembering those who have entered the fullness of God’s Kingdom in the past year. From the earliest period of our history, we Christians have gathered to remember those who preceded us. The main reason that early Christians gathered in catacombs was not to escape Roman scrutiny but because they wanted to share communion with the saints, whose bones rested in those underground burial chambers. We continue that tradition in a more formal way by celebrating All Saints. In this service we serve The Lord’s Supper with a profound awareness that we are gathered not only with each other, but with the saints who have preceded us. Every year we read the Necrology–the list of the blessed dead of the past year. We hope you can join us!
